Smack Them Lips for S’mores!

In Uncategorized on August 10, 2011 at 5:01 pm

TODAY: August 10, 2011 is National S’mores day!

Some people are completely unaffected and unaware of this day, but the S’more is a magical treat that is simple, tasty and allowed you to play with fire at a young age!

(It also appeared in the camping episode of the original Barney&Friends!)

Let it be the name, the stay puffed marshmallow man from Ghostbusters, or the zaniness of the feather light edible- the marshmallow is mine and my friend’s favorite item in the pantry, (if either of us had a pantry,) it rocks and we agree that it is at its most glorious state when paired with a graham cracker and chocolate.

This good friend of mine and I like to create fun names for our favorite tasty treats, and these names are usually not PG, but they are also not vulgar. So, this morning we took our favorite treat and sassed it up a bit.

Here are the runners up for best S’more title(in order of their conception):

Torrid Affair S’mores
Hop back in tha sack s’mores
Shangri Lala S’mores
Patty Wack S’mores
S’pankin’ S’mores
Not SO Celibate S’mores
Tagline: The chaste won’t know what hit ‘em
Tantalizing Titillating S’mores (my friend’s personal favorite)
If you have yet to fulfill the God-given right of making a s’more,
here is what you need in your S’MORE ARSENAL:
*Marshmallow
*Graham crackers(Original is most commonly used)
*Milk Chocolate(Hershey’s is tradition)
*Thin wooden sticks for spearing your marshmallows and long enough to not burn your hand
*Fire
*A bucket of water in case the fire gets out of control
A fun way to sass up your s’more:
Use a milk or dark chocolate filled with caramel. Sprinkle that piece of chocolate with a lil bit o’ sea salt for a nice pop before you put the hot marshmallow on top of it!
You can make all kinds of s’mores, traditional is the most comforting,
but let your imagination run wild on
National S’mores Day!
Gooey chocolate kisses,
Flannery
